Slyrs Bavarian Single Malt
First up huge thanks to Joe Ellis (@whiskytube) from Whisky Wednesday who very kindly sent me this sample of Slyrs Bavarian Single Malt to try.
I've had a few European whiskies so far and the standards vary widely from really awesome to quite poor, this German whisky is at the top end of the scale.
i really enjoyed this dram and suggest if you can find it you pick it up and try it.
initally my nose kicks in with vanilla, then there's a note of brown bread, but without the doughyness from it, almost like it's just out the oven, there's then some tree sap and squished bramley apples
vanilla to the fore freshly scraped vanilla pods especially and a touch of fresh citrus lime juice definitely and a slight touch of grapefruit.
quite a lot of warmth that comes with this, but it's fresh vanilla pods.
