Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak
Tasted as part of the Glenlivet Alpha Tweet tasting with The Whisky Wire (@thewhiskywire)
Another cracker of a dram, this was matured in French Limousin Oak casks. Limousin Oak is a popular choice for maturation of Cognac, which gives it a real dark fruit fruityness and brings out some toffee and liquorice notes along with the tropical fruits of the 12.
some werthers originals toffees and liquorice covered in dried pineapple chunks and dried fruits raisins and sultanas especially with a touch of prune juice
quite bitter initially then theres a tropical fruit note that comes through very much fruits especially pineapple and papaya
quite dry and bitter with flashes of dried fruit
