I was lucky to sample this recent release into the Travel Retail market, The Dalmore Valour, after recieving a sample directly from Dalmore.
I like The Dalmore, especially the Cigar Malt Reserve, so i was really excited about trying this new release.
With the use of some Port finishing as well as the normal sherry cask maturation this is a really fruity dram with hints of plum jam and chocolate.
If you spot this whilst passing through an airport i would say pick up a bottle, it's a lovely dram and worthy of a place on the whisky shelf at home.
the nose really kicks off with the hints from the port pipe with Plum Jam with some candied orange. theres a lovely toffied note that works with the jam and the gentle oak notes along with some dark fruits dipped in chocolate.
lovely lovely dark fruits dipped in chocolate, more plum jam and oodles of toffee and oak.
lovely warming fruity and toffied
