Wemyss Malts Spice King 8 Year Old
A wee trip to Linlithgow a week or so back and we found ourselves, as normal in Linlithgow, having a nosey in Ellies Cellar, a fantastic Off Licence selling a range of wines, beers, ciders and spirits and amongst that a really good selection of whiskies.
I always have a nosey through the miniatures to see if there is anything exciting and came across this Wemyss Malts Spice King 8 Year Old so it was immediately added to that days purchases.
Based on an Island malt (yeah that will most likely be Talisker) this lovely dram is worthy of the name Spice Kind and i really want to try the 12 year old version to compare.
Instant peppery notes, there's a lovely spicy woodyness also and there's a touch of sweetness here too, pine cones and bark, there's a touch of peat smoke mingling in there too.
lightly smoky with touches of spice and pepper and tree sap sweetness,
gentle pepper and spice.
