Westons Rosies Pig Raspberry Roller with Raspberry Juice and Cucumber
Another supermarket Cider choice, I tend to like a lot of cider at this time of year, I find it refreshing, and I jump between ones I know and ones I see and fancy trying. I’ve had a couple of others from this range, the Flat Tyre with Rhubarb which I loved and the Hand Brake with Damson that was very drinkable but not quite as nice as the Rhubarb.
Based on the other two from this range I had high hopes, but it’s very much just like an alcoholic juice and seems to have lost a lot of the underlying cider notes that you still get with the other two, and that I loved.
Its refreshing, very drinkable, but not as “cidery” as I would have liked but is an ideal summer very hot evening, if you just want something easy to drink.
There’s also another in this range which is Rusted Wheel (Cherry) which only comes in a 10l bag in a box which I will need to pick up and give a try to.
Available from some Supermarkets or from Westons Online Cider shop
Its quite light, there’s a definite farmyard cider cider, most hay like and a bit silage like, then a tang of raspberries, none of those usual apple or toffee apple notes I really like in cider.
Crisp and fresh, the cucumber is clearer here, then raspberry juice with a light tang, there’s a hint of something bitter and a flash of some farmyard notes
Cucumber and raspberry definitely to the fore, tangy and fresh
