FEW Delilahs 23rd Anniversary Whiskey
I've spoken about FEW before so I'm not going to dive into the brand its self too much.
This limited release from the crew at FEW (love a rhyme) pays homage to a little bar called Delilah’s, rumour has it that the idea for FEW distilleries was born in this bar.
So, For Delilah’s 23rd Anniversary, the FEW crew made a special batch to celebrate, a blend of 23 casks of mostly Bourbon and Rye, with a few others are in the mix, all chosen by the team from Delilah’s then blended by FEW. Its super interesting.
I tried this again today for the first time in 8 or 9 months and forgot how much I loved it.
It’s unique and complex on a different level. I wouldn’t go as far to say it the best American whiskey I've ever had, but it’s certainly one of the most interesting and defiantly up there with my favourites. If I can find it, I'm buying another bottle.
A Rye like nose, big and spicy, toasted oak then fresh leather and tobacco followed by fresh sticky Marmalade
It’s pretty epic, chewy liquorice, milk chocolate, Cardamom with oak tannins followed by lingering marmalade then more liquorice
Charred Smoke, with the spices coming back through slowly drying out and leaving you with a classic dill like finish
