Inchmurrin 2008 Cask #79 Heathrow Terminal 5 Exclusive
Global Travel Retail is an ever expanding market for whisky, and other luxury goods, and it's nice when the bottles are smaller batch, or single cask and not the mass produced no age statements that some distilleries are pumping out for this market.
Example being this fabulous single cask of Inchmurrin from the Loch Lomond Whiskies group, it's a single cask of 278 bottles and available exclusively at Heathrow Terminal 5's World of Whiskies store.
Filled with fruity and caramel notes, theres a hint of bitter apple caramel tart and strong citrus peel, and a splash of white pepper on the finish, this is seriously tasty stuff and for only £59 a bottle is a bargain too, if you're heading through Heathrow, pick one up.
Thanks to World Duty Free for the official sample.
An initial caramel sweetness, all butter toffees, overcooked wholemeal toast, tangy Bramley apples made into toffee apples, a custard filled fudge donut, sweet stewed apples and apple chews ( not sour ones ) soggy sweet milky tea dipped rich tea biscuits.
Tangy and oaky, strong tangy citrus fruit peel with a mashed tarts Bramley apple note, wood spices and hints of light white pepper running along the sides of your tongue, a touch of buttery caramel is hiding there also.
The caramel comes back along with a warming peppery spice
