Jura Signature Series 12 Year Old
This Jura 12 Year Old from the recently announced signature series from Jura I believe will only be available from Specialist retailers and is a nice addition to the range.
Another interesting dram from Jura, and if only available from Specialist Retailers, one that will be harder for some to track down.
There's still that manuka honey smoky sweet note but the smoke is much less than the 10 Year Old and for me the sweetness from the sherry has overpowered it and the marmalade notes are masking the richness of the puffs of smoke and sea air.
A tasty dram thats very drinkable but just doesn't quite match the strength of flavour in the new 10 Year Old
Soon to be available, I believe early April, from specialists such as Robert Graham, Royal Mile Whiskies, The Whisky Exchange or Master of Malt
Thanks to Scott from Whyte and Mackay who let me sample these fine drams.
An initial hit of slightly smoky rich dried fruits, slightly chalky like a raisin and dried apricot version of Edinburgh rock, doughy treacle scones, a light smoky note like walking into an old cottage with a wood burning stove that was used the previous day, light grassy notes creeping in too.
Again more of that chalky fruity note, a light hint of tangy orange peel and pith, a touch of Chinese five spice, Demerara sugar, marmalade coated well done toast and a light hint of smoky charcoal
Chinese five spice, marmalade and overdone toast
