Jura Signature Series 10 Year Old
This Jura 10 Year Old from the recently announced signature series from Jura really tickled my palate and i can see myself drinking a fair amount of this in the future.
I've drank through a fair amount of Jura in my time drinking whisky and the standard 10 year old has made up a fair amount of this, but this new 10 year old, for me mixes a bit of the old 12 year Old Elixir, with a splash of the Jura Superstition and for me it really works well.
It has a familiar feeling and i know the guys at Jura will hate me for saying this but for me it reminds me of the old good Highland Park, with that sweet sherried note mixing with light, honeyed smoke and for me thats a really good thing.
This is going to be priced pretty competitively and near the bottom of the range but i will be happily drinking plenty of this in the coming months and years, this 10 year old for me is the best of the bunch in this lot and i really enjoyed it.
Soon to be available, I believe early April, from specialists such as Robert Graham, Royal Mile Whiskies, The Whisky Exchange or Master of Malt
Thanks to Scott from Whyte and Mackay who let me sample these fine drams.
A light hint of smoke, with touches of sweet sherry notes, the smoke is light with puffs of Sweet cinder toffee, and puff candy, manuka honey, bitter chocolate, elements of citrus pith, light spices, nutmeg and Chinese allspice.
Sweet juicy manuka honey and floral notes, crunchy nut corn flakes in treacle, citrus pith and cinnamon, more of that cinder toffee, light puffs of smoke and sweetness
Sweet cornflakes, smoky manuka honey.
