Glenglassaugh Port Wood Finish
Second of four new wood finishes from Glenglassaugh Distillery, this second one finished in Port wood.
I was lucky enough to try this originally whilst eating a fabulous meal on Sandend Beach near the Distillery at Portsoy, but did not take notes at the time, however I have tried it again in my normal comfy home office.
I tend to,absolutely love Port matured drams and this was no different, the juicy jam notes wafting from the glass from some distance, the mineralogy of glenglassaugh is still here and shines through, complex and very tasty, a bottle of this is making its way to me now.

Sweet juicy plum and apricot jam, dried apricots and those apricot jam filled French pastries with custard which I absolutely love, undercooked pastry and a slight metallic, mineral hint, a light touch of struck flint.
Spiced plum jam, a real touch of cinnamon and nutmeg, dried apricots with 5 spice, that struck flint again and a hint of those pastries again
