Mezan Jamaica XO Rum
This Jamaican rum from Mezan is is a blend of casks from two distilleries, Monymusk and Hampden and is XO, which i still can't work out what that means in terms of rum age.
This is interesting though the Hampden distillery having Scottish roots (yes that is also the name of our National Football Stadium).
I thought this rum was very light, with gentle fruity notes, it reminded me a lot of some of the gentler whiskies out there as it really needs you to work hard at it, but is rewarding when you do. Really reasonably priced, this would be a nice rum to sip or in things like a Cuba Libre.
Available to purchase from Master of Malt.
Thanks to The Whisky Wire and Mezan Rum for including me on this Tweet Tasting.
