Littlemill 25yr 1991 XOP (Douglas Laing)
When I started this blog in it's initial form was back in the very early days of 2012 (i actually did a couple on the last few days of 2011 also), i never thought i'd see the day when i had reviewed 1500 products, but that day has arrived.
This is the 1500th review on this site, from a mix of whisky, rum, gin, cider, beer, tequila and other fab drinks, so i wanted it to be something special. I could have went for something from my birth year or maybe even something really old, but this Closed Lowland distillery from my favourite independent bottler seemed like a good choice to make.
Soft gentle, malty, honeycomb, bitter fruits, this has them all and it just gets better and better as it sits in the glass and opens up to the air. If you got a bottle of this you are in for a treat.
in 2011/2012 i never thought i'd get to 1500 reviews, today i have my sight set on getting to 3000 and beyond.
Sold out at Master of Malt and everywhere i have looked already, and no surprise either.
Thanks to Douglas Laing for the official sample as part of my Douglas Laing Fellows pack.
Wow! Malty, creamy, malted biscuits dipped in milk, honeycomb, butterscotch, puff candy, tropical fruit with a hint of tarteness like star fruit and dragonfruit.
Soft gentle fruits, honeycomb and malt loaf, more milk and butterscotch, very milky angel delight, a touch of light spice on the roof of the mouth
Soft gentle, lasting but gentle soft sweetness with malt loaf
