Lossit - Classic Selection (The Lost Distillery Company)
The Lost Distillery Company spend a lot of time and effort researching the history of long gone distilleries and looking at the flavour profiles they are likely to have had, before recreating as a blended malt.
This is the recreation of Lossit from Ballygrant on Islay and which closed in 1867 due to it's isolated location.
if this was the taste of Lossit today, i'd be having one in a minute, sweet, fruity, smoky, awesome, this is a damn nice dram and one i really would recommend you give a try.
You can buy now from Master of Malt online.
Many thanks to the Lost Distillery Company for the official sample
Crushed seashells and salty water, crispy bacon bits, toasted whole meal bread, foam bananas and a hit of floral lavender notes and whisps of fruity smoke and smouldering liquorice
A burst of peaty earthy notes than mix with toasted wholemeal bread and that smouldering liquorice again, charred fennel and lavender honey
Long lasting smoky bacon notes
