Kilkerran 8 year old cask strength
Posted by Tom
I've been really impressed with the drams coming from Kilkerran (or Glen Gyle Distillery) and i really love their softer elements in comparison to Springbank.
This cask strength 8 year old is an absolute trooper, it's got lovely oily cake like notes along with a trademark Campbeltown whisp of smoke.
This is brilliant and very much the kind of dram you should pick up if you find it out in the wild.
Sold out at Master of Malt and other specialists, keep an eye out for more like this in the future.
Oily lemon drizzle cake, rich sugary Victoria sponge mix, light and fresh, smoke comes as it sits in the glass as a gentle whisp
Tarte lemon and bitter oranges, gooseberry, and vanilla fudge, and a hint of smoke again
Smoke lingers with a tarte juiciness
