Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye
In the 2016 Whisky Bible Jim Murray nominated this Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye as the best whisky in the world, starting an buying frenzy, but is it actually any good.
The honest answer is yes, it's good, it's fruity, spicy, and got a lot going for it, but it's certainly not the best whisky in the world, by any stretch of the imagination.
well why then? basically it's all up front, the flavours are easy to get and don't shy away, it's complex but doesn't need you to work too hard at getting it and s such is a great dram for people either with no experience or who only like things that slap them about the face.
It's a decent dram, but please do not expect this to be ocking your world anytime soon.
Butterscotch and doughy but lightly toasted wholemeal bread, doughy rum baba and a splash of tropical fruit, honeydew melon and a glacé cherry
Bread, doughy, lightly toasted brown bread, toasted spices, pva glue, sweeter fruits coming too, sultanas,
Warm apple pie with an overdose of cinnamon, drying and long lasting
