Tormore 1988 Cask #0602 (The Single Malts of Scotland)
This Tormore is the first in a series of drams from Speciality Brands label The Single Malts of Scotland, and a great one to start with.
Oh wow this is such a good dram, the nose is difficult to get passed, you want to just sniff and sniff the nose for hours, fabulous dry chalky sweets on the palate with more of that biscuit and it really hides the abv well not needing any water for drinking, this is one fabulous delicious dram, exceptional.
Available to buy from from The Whisky Exchange
Thanks to Speciality Brands for the official sample.
Biscuity right off the bat, a sweet creamy element also, soft homemade custard creams with the addition of a little mixed fruit jam, an "old fashioned" feel of dustiness, beeswax, waxy vanilla pods, saline solution with a touch of cask char,
This does not taste like it's 63.3% abv, wow there's a little evaporation from the tongue giving chilli heat then sweetness, dry fruity chalk sweets, waxy vanilla pods and chalky starburst sweets, honey and ovaltine biscuits, a hint of brandy snap tweil with a mixed berry ice cream
Biscuity, fruity chalk and warming heat that continues on for such a long time
