SMWS 70.15 Tasty and Mouth Puckering
The last of three reviews today of drams from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society March outturn, this is 70.15 Tasty and Mouth Puckering .
Another of those drams where the nose and palate don't totally match up, however both the nose and palate are brilliant, lots of juicy treacle toffee and sweet fruits, it's a delicious example of the distillery and one that you really should try if you can.
This is a brilliant dram, and the first time i've tried a Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottling from this distillery, if this is the quality, then they need to do it again, and again, and again.

Oh wow, is this really from a bourbon barrel?, it's sweet treacle toffee, some light biscuity and malty notes, some sweet and juicy plum and nectarine, toffee pennies, really tasty and juicy.
Nowhere near as fruity or toffee'd as the nose, more malty, biscuity and a little spicy, some toffee comes in again with a hint of orange, naval oranges, with sweet orange and pith also, like orange toffee and Terry's chocolate orange.
Orange, chocolate, sweet.
