English Whisky Company 5yr Batch 1 (That Boutiquey Whisky Company)
Sometimes there's a dram that comes along that you know just is not for you, and this English Whisky Company 5yr Batch 1 from That Boutiquey Whisky Company is one of them.
I was hopeful from the nose here, it's dirty, a bit like springbank but without any puffs of smoke, and fruity, but it does have a spirity nature too, the palate however was not great, spirity, musty and with notes of blue cheese.
There's definitely potential in here for this dram to be good, but it really doesn't work for my palate and for me it needs much longer in a cask to remove that spirity nature and hopefully iron out some of the other notes, for me this really isnt good at all.

Thanks to Maverick Drinks for the official sample.
There's quite a spirity note first, then a dirty note that reminds me in Springbank but without that lick of smoke, pear drops, fruit salad chews and acetone,
Very spirity again, dirty popcorn and musty bread, blue cheese and acetone
Musty, spirity, raw
