SMWS 31.32 Piri Piri And Teriyaki Chicken
This Scotch Malt Whisky Society31.32 Piri Piri And Teriyaki Chicken is one i've had sitting around for a while from a share with some friends, i've sipped it a few times but this is me finally doing some notes.
Distillery 31 is one that I love to drink and although I know it's a marmite dram for others, theres just something about it that i love.
The name on this one is seriously suitable with meaty notes and then spices, although i'd have went more the Chorizo route than the piri piri or teriyaki route. Delicous stuff.

Light and easy despite the age and ABV, lots of dunnage warehouse dusty notes, hints of lemon peel and pith, gentle spices, I can see where the name came from it's not quite sticky teriyaki but it has got an oriental spice note in there and a gentle meatiness that for me is more cured meats to chorizo than anything else.
Lemon pith and squashed lemongrass with a wood spice and meatiness, again this is more chorizo like for me, thick meats with a dusting of spicy paprika, and with light balsa wood and vanilla notes
Very gentle, light spices disappear and more lemony citrus notes come through.
