Ben Bracken 27 Year Old
I've got a large collection of supermarket malt samples to get through, but recently I had this 2016 release of a 27 year old Speyside single malt from Lidl, courtesy of a sample from my good friend Barry at The Whiskyphiles blog.
For under £50 a 27 year old single malt sounds initially like an absolute bargain, but is it?
The nose was promising, juicy, sweet, interesting, but the palate and finish were a disappointment, flat, salty, and with almost no finish at all.
Shocking for me to say but this really just didn't do it for me and although it's not so bad i couldnt drink it, i wouldnt go out my way to get any.
Thanks again to Barry from The Whiskyphiles for the Sample (and picture)
sweet fruity and juicy, pears in syrup, lots of juicy fruit chewing gum, easy on the nose
Quite salty and flat, disappointing and quite flat in comparison to the nose
Gone, flat, sweet
