Imperial 19yr 1995 Cask #50164 (Signatory)
Thanks to my good friend Barry (@thewhiskyphiles) from The WhiskyPhiles blog for this sample of a 19 year old 1995 vintage Imperial from Signatory.
This speyside distillery, which was closed for over 60% of its life before being demolished in 2010 will simply become more collectable in the years to come so lovely to see this one being opened and consumed.
This is some seriously tasty stuff, with juicy tropical fruits and lots of Bready notes, pineapple Danishes and icing sugar.
This is a great dram, one of those that makes you want to try more from this distillery.
Thanks again to Barry (@thewhiskyphiles) for the sample.
Buttery and creamy, toffied with a hint of cask char, sweet and gentle tropical fruits, Bready too almost like lightly toasted white bread with juicy pineapple jam, sweet pineapple danish, vanilla and juicy citrus notes, love this stuff
Sweet vanilla essence and pineapple jam topped lightly toasted bread, juicy pineapple iced Danishes, icing sugar sweetness, more of that cask char mix with some digestive biscuits and rhubarb sauce covered custard tart.
Sweet and juicy, cask char and digestive biscuits
