SMWS 7.113 Takes You To Another Place
This The Scotch Malt Whisky Society dram I've had sitting about for a while, I believe it didn't appear on the official outturn and is one of only 147 bottles matured in a 2nd fill port barrique.
On the basis of the cask I was expecting much more plum and damson in here but it's not like anything port cask matured I've tried before The name 7.113 Takes You To Another Place really makes me intrigued also.
Tangy but sweet, butter but juicy and mouthwatering this dram is full of contradictions and fabulous flavours I really do like this ... I'd happily drink though a lot of it.
If you Like single cask whisky you really should be a member of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
Tangy initially with pink grapefruit juice and touches of charred orange peel, bitter sherbet dib dabs and balsamic vinegar, a hint of cask char and then more sherry familiar notes of dried fruits and sweet Demerara sugar with a touch of acetone
Tangy and juicy, fruit flavoured candy stocks dipped in sherbet, more of the cask char coming through with pink grapefruit juice and a slightly thicker oily consistency, dried fruits with apricot soaked in pineapple juice being the strongest flavour
Medium finish which is much sweeter than I expected it to be with a tang of juicy fruit chewing gum
