The Lost Distilleries Blend Batch 6
This is the 19th Day of the whisky advent calendar with this The Lost Distilleries Blend Batch 6, I've previously tried The Lost Distilleries Blend Batch 4 so this excites me.
This dram contains drams from various closed distilleries including Mosstowie, Port Ellen, Glenisla, Imperial, Caperdonich, Glen Mhor and Brora, and grain whiskies from Port Dundas Making it rare, i really enjoyed batch 4 and this really excites me to try this and at around £300 or so a bottle very much a dram you can sip gently on special occasions.
This is such a brilliant whisky, I really love this stuff, it's full of juicy sweet tangyness and although batch 6 has now sold out (although 3cl samples are still available from Master of Malt), batch 7 is for sale from Master of Malt and is worth hunting out.
Thanks to Drinks by the Dram for the calendar and thus sample.
Beeswax and mahogany, quite woody with a gentle puff of smoke, reminds me of passing cottages with coal fireplaces, sweet pear drops, hints of juicy fruit chewing gum, menthol and eucalyptus.
Sweet juicy fruit chewing gum, coal tar soap and pear drops, beeswax, woody and gentle, tangy and quite peppery.
Sweet juicy fruit chewing gum, peppery and tangy.
