Bruichladdich Micro Provenance Cask 048
The Bruichladdich LaddieMP2 was the micro provenance tweet tasting, where three mystery bottlings were unmasked and more information provided on them.
This cask 048 distilled in 1992 and matured in a fresh ex-bourbon cask for 23 years.
I've tried a few much older Bruichladdich drams and this is yet another example of a great dram. Lovely, very very lovely it's full of sweetness and some tannic notes that remind me of tea leaf, very much enjoyed this.
You can only buy direct from the Bruichladdich Shop.
Thanks to Bruichladdich for including me on this tasting, please look out for LaddieMP3 on the 26th November, check out the Bruichladdich Twitter and Youtube links for more details..
Much more refined than the others in the tasting, apple slices dipped in Demerara sugar and hints of icing sugar, desiccated coconut, fig rolls, bready, sweet toffee pennies and milk chocolate covered caramels.
Grassy riverbank notes mix with orchard fruits and desiccated coconut, waxy, stewed apples and something more tannic, tea leaf in the bottom of a cup and some fruit teas
Sweet, grassy, tannic
