SMWS 73.69 Dark Side Eclipsed by Sweet Joys
I'm becoming more and more a fan of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottlings from this distillery, with some of my favourite The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottles coming from distillery 73.
Ex sherry matured which isn't normally my favourite, I'm hugely into ex bourbon at the moment especially from this distillery, I'm looking at this with excitement and trepidation let's see what we think.
Tangy and sweet, bitter and syrupy, this works really well for me despite the ex sherry cask, there was almost a rubberyness on the nose but it went much more sweet and spicy.
I'm planning again to get to over 100 The Scotch Malt Whisky Society reviews again in 2015 and this is no15 of that, I may not make it as i've been running behind this year but I will be trying as hard as i can to get there.

Oh this is interesting there's a lovely bitter dark chocolate covered treacle toffee note coming out first, bitter coffee beans and tobacco leaves, something sweeter and more waxy, like a very sweet orange peel, it almost goes rubbery but manages to hold off a little before a touch of spice.
Tingly spice and sweetness almost cinnamon covered treacle toffee, chocolate limes, bitter and tangy, peppercorns and orange peel, waxy and acetone notes, lovely thick mouthfeel though
Quite short, was really expecting it to last for a while from the nose, quite dry and spicy.
