Dalmore 11 Year Old Duthies (Wm Cadenhead)
I picked up a 200ml bottle of this at the Cadenheads Shop in Edinburgh for the Livingston Whisky Club night, and just totally loved it.
The Duthies range of bottles are at 46% and may be either single cask or multiple casks which have been married together to ensure consistency. There's a real edge of quality in the way this has been produced that comes across well in the whisky.
Despite this not being as sherried as the majority of Dalmore that i'm used to it's a cracking dram with loads of sweet fruits and one that if you can find in your local Cadenheads I'd recommend that you pick up and try.
Initially lots of sweet fresh fruit with melon and light summer berries with greengages and overripe plums, vanilla flavoured chalky sweets and sweet vanilla sugar, then some drying oily sherry soaked raisin and cranberries
Sweet greengages with white pepper tingle and a really oily mouthfeel, ripe banana, chalky vanilla and sarsaparilla lozenges
Peppery sarsaparilla lozenges with greengages and under ripe kiwi fruit
