Greenalls Original London Dry Gin
Last night i was lucky enough to partake in the #AlliedGlassTT tweet tasting organised by Steve Rush (@thewhiskywire) from The Whisky Wire and to sample a range of Gins including this Greenall's Original London Dry Gin.
This was the first Gin of the evening and I really enjoyed it, I've seen this in the local supermarket a few times and will definitely be picking up a bottle soon.
Theres lots of lovely citrus notes in this Gin, with hints of pepper to keep it interesting, i really preferred it straight than in a G&T with Fever Tree Tonic, but will try it again with other tonics also.
You can also pick up a bottle from Specialist like Master of Malt
(straight) Peppery Juniper with citrus and lemongrass and floral notes quite creamy on the nose
(with tonic) more citrus notes appear, light pink grapefruit especially
(straight) white able pepper coms srongly wth citrussy notes, a hint of grated nutmeg and then the juniper comes also
(with tonic) sweeter with less pepper and nutmeg which is hidden by the tonic, still very herbal / floral
(straight) warming nutmeg and herbs
(with tonic) sweet citrus
