Tesco Value Scotch Whisky
Many thanks to Lynne and Fraser, the parents of my best friend Kinor, who very kindly passed me this bottle after winning it in a raffle.
There's a bit of a humour element to reviewing a bottle like this which, was sold cheap and cheerfully by Tesco. It seems like this is an old bottling as the new "everyday value" labels have taken over everywhere.
It's obviously a young whisky, but it's not a bad whisky, there's some nice earthy notes and a lot of toffee and caramel, the palate bringing in more vanilla and a hint of spice.
It's perfectly drinkable, although i wouldnt want to drink too much, but would be more than adequate with a mixer.
A touch of sawdust and earthiness, sweet treacle sweets and quality street toffee pennies hints of fruits and vanilla essence with caramel shortcake
Toffee pennies and vanilla sauce, tinned fruits hints of dried wood chips with a smidge of spice
Spice coated toffee pennies
