Springbank 17yr Port Cask (One Off)
Back in August when on my #IslayRoadTrip with Steve (@steveprentice) from Somerset Whisky Blog and Jon (@dvdbloke) from Scotch and Sci-fi we were lucky enough to have a look in the cage at the back of the Cadenheads shop in Campbeltown where i spotted this little beauty.
I love port matured and finished whisky and had this in my hand unfortunately stopping Jon (@dvdbloke) from getting it, there was nothing comparible (these are one-offs remember) and so Jon and I decided to go halves on the bottle.
It's a hugely flavoursome dram and one i wish i had 3 or 4 bottles of never mind just a single one, or half of one, dirty, oily, sweet, fruity, spicy it has it all. if only this was available to buy again.
Crunchy red apples with cloves and demerera sugar with fresh vanilla pods and damson jam with raspberry and plums with dirty oily treacle covered undercooked scones, more cinnamon spices come through with hints dried fruits in Christmas cake
Cinnamon spiced apples with plum and damson jam hints of powerful sticky teriyaki chicken and treacle covered scones and mixed spice and a dirty oily sherry feel
A Spicy and sweet roller coaster
