SMWS 3.222 Darker Side of Sweetness
Back in the early part of 2014 I stated that i wanted to review 100 The Scotch Malt Whisky Society expressions in 2014, and today, this post is my 100th The Scotch Malt Whisky Society in 2014.
Huge thanks to Barry (@thewhiskyphiles) from The Whisky Philes blog for helping with with enough samples to push me onto, and beyond, the 100 i needed, although i'm keeping the extras until after tomorrow to allow them to be part of the 2015 selection.
This 3.222 Darker Side of Sweetness seems a very appropriate dram to be doing here as not only was it the bottle my wife bought me for my birthday this year but it was bottled specifically to celebrate 2014 being the year of Homecoming Scotland, and during Whisky Month orf May 2014.
It's a fabulous dram with light heathery smoke, chalky fruity edinburgh rock and lots of foam bananas, a truely fabulous dram.
once again thanks to Barry (@thewhiskyphiles) and to Yoav (@yoavgel) and Ben (@ben_cops) for pushing me further and giving me the encouragement i needed and to Helen (@smwshelen) & Mark (@mark_at_smws) at The Scotch Malt Whisky Society HQ for all their support and encouragement and to all the folks at the venues who have been a pleasure to deal with over 2014.
You can view all of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society drams i've reviewed in 2014 by clicking here and i look forward to getting to another 100 The Scotch Malt Whisky Society reviews in 2015.
If you are a whisky fan you really should consider joining The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
