Aultmore 12 Year Old
Aultmore, like many of the Dewars portfolio of distilleries, was until very recently only available through Independent bottlings as the stock was mainly reserved for blending, this change has taken time to implement but the whiskies really shine so it's been worth the wait.
This 12 year old is the baby of the bunch, a 12, 21 and 25, all bottled without colouring and at 46%.
Filled with soft fruity notes then biscuity malty notes this does the trick for me, well worth having in the drinking cabinet.
Tasted whilst on tour with Dewars.
Soft Pear and apple in syrup with light gentle oak and hints of white grape some biscuity notes creeping when left to sit in the glass
Oily waxy lemon skin with red apple with gentle syrupy notes oaky with hints of gentle wood spice
Oily and lemony
