Famous Grouse Commonwealth Games 2014
This Famous Grouse Commonwealth Games 2014 bottling, which is actually a Glenturret Single malt distilled in 1986 (the last time the Commonwealth games were held in Scotland) and bottled in 2014.
Thanks to my good buddy Steve (@steveprentice) from Somerset Whisky Blog, for the sample.
An interesting dram with huge hits of Maltiness, very biscuity and a slight bit peppery. I've had a number of over Glenturret's over the years and this is a good one but not one of the best of them, an interesting collectible for sure, but for drinking i'd stick to some of the others.
Massive malted barley notes malt loaf digestive biscuits and tea dunked rich tea biscuits and very cereal like notes of muesli and all bran ... Hints of light lemongrass and green peppers
Sweet toffee caramel notes with Demerara sugar dusting and spicy cinnamon mixing with some tinned fruit salad in syrup
Sweet toffee and fruit salad
