Ish Limed Gin
It might have been a month or two since i ran Gin Month on the blog but that doesn't mean i haven't been drinking and reviewing Gin and i have a few more coming soon.
Todays expression is from Ish Gin and is the Limed (or Limao) version which adds that twist of citrus to your Gin, it's a lovely gin straight and the lime really adds to the flavour when made into a G&T (with Fever Tree tonic as always).
I like a wedge of lime in my G&T anyway but this adds that hint in without it, a fantastic Gin and one i will be getting again and again.
Pick up your bottle from Master of Malt
Many thanks to Ish Gin for the generous official sample.
(straight) initially the nose is all juniper,, lovely fresh juniper then the further you stick your nose in the more it becomes chocolate limes, lime peel, key lime pie and lemon zest
(with tonic) much more citrussy, lovely juniper and hints of chocolate limes coming through
(straight) bitter twiggy juniper with a creamy butterscotch and american cream soda edge and hints of creamy key lime pie
(with tonic) the juniper is still there but the tonic brings out so much more of the lime, it becomes fresher and more creamy, definite key lime pie
(straight) becomes more lime as it reaches the the finish, lovely stuff
(with tonic) sweet citrus with hints of juniper
