Glenfarclas Release Travel Retail 18 Year Old Expression

Glenfarclas 18 Travel Retail Family owned J&G Grant is releasing a new 18yo expression of its single malt Glenfarclas onboard Viking Line’s M/S Cinderella during this week's Cinderella Whisky Fair.

Billed as the world’s largest floating whisky festival, the show takes place on the Cinderella as the ship cruises the Baltic Sea from 17–20 January

In keeping with the brand's traditional style, the 18yo is heavily sherried and bottled at natural colour.

Glenfarclas 18yo is presented in a red and copper foil tube designed to stand out on shelf and appeal particularly to gift buyers. The individual gift tubes are marked ‘Exclusive to Travel Retail’, a message which is more prominently displayed on the outer case.

Glenfarclas 18yo is only available in a 1 litre bottle. The recommended retail price is £75 (US$120) at 43% strength.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Its natural colour is described as “sunshine on a barley field”.

Nose: Fresh sweet aromas of honeycomb, citrus notes and a hint of vanilla, followed by more citrus fruits and roasted hazelnuts.

Taste: Described as “fuller and more powerful than suggested by the appearance and aroma”. Flavours include creamy fudge, dried fruits, almonds, Cox’s apples and prunes.
