12 Drams of Christmas - The Results

The 12 Drams of Christmas was a roaring success with participants from the UK, Netherlands and Texas experiencing some utterly brilliant whiskies and some real suprises.

The top 3 were
1st Place - Steve Prentice 62.5pts
2nd Place - Danny Williamson 57.5pts
Joint 3rd Place - Sean Foushee and Jonathon Webb 55pts

Steve in First Place wins a bottle of the brilliant Ardbeg 10 Year Old (i'll sort you out with that after New Year)

The Drams tasted as part of this #12dramsofxmas Tasting were-
Day 1 - Tomatin 15 Year Old Speyside whisky at 43%
Day 2 - Glengoyne Burnfoot Non age statement Highland whisky, 40% (Travel Retail)
Day 3 - Deanston 12 Year Old Highland Whisky, The Whisky Shop Glenkeir Treasures, 40%
Day 4 - Linkwood 15 Year Old Speyside Whisky, Gordon & MacPhail bottling at 43%
Day 5 - Caol Ila 12 Year Old Unpeated Islay Whisky, 2010 release at 57.6%
Day 6 - Glen Keith 10 Year Old Speyside Whisky, 43% (Pre 1983 release - only available at auction now)
Day 7 - BenRiach 16 Year Old Speyside Whisky at 55.2% (Cask Strength and Carry On bottling)
Day 8 - Auchentoshan Valinch 2012 lowland whisky, 57.2% (Auchentoshan Festival Bottling)
Day 9 - Sainsburys TTD Islay whisky 12 year old at 40% - (no marks given for distillery although it is reckoned to be Lagavulin)
Day 10 - Bowmore 12 year Old Islay Whisky at 40%
Day 11 - Glenturret 10 Year old highland whisky at 40%
Day 12 - Balcones True Blue Corn USA whiskey, less than a year old at 63% (Cask 1442)
