Loch Lomond Group appoints Gordon and MacPhail

Loch Lomond Group appoints Gordon and MacPhail Loch Lomond Group is an independent distiller which owns both grain and malt distilleries producing some of the finest and rarest Scotch whiskies in the world. Our portfolio includes the Loch Lomond Single Malt incorporating the Island Collection featuring Inchmurrin Single Malt, Glen Scotia Single Malt, a Campbeltown malt as well as several high quality blends. Each is a fine example of its region and style, Glen Scotia being one of only three distilleries producing single malt in Campbeltown, one of the five distinct malt producing regions of Scotland.

Located in the north-east of Scotland, in the heart of the world famous whisky producing region of Speyside, Gordon & MacPhail is an independent family owned and managed firm which has been bottling Single Malt Whiskies for over 120 years.

In 2014 Loch Lomond Group have undertaken an extensive review of the stock and branding and have invested heavily in creating new ranges for both Inchmurrin and Glen Scotia Single Malts. Distinctive new bottles and premium packaging emphasize the tradition and quality of these brands and provide trade and consumers alike with a renewed reason to purchase and enjoy.

The new Inchmurrin Single Malt range will comprise a 12yr old, Madeira Wood Finish and an 18yr Old. This core range will be the first three expressions of Loch Lomond Island Collection. Each malt will be as subtlety different as the islands of Loch Lomond themselves. And, like the islands, each cask has evolved individually, developing unique characteristics which set them apart from their neighbours.

To allow the natural characteristic of the whisky to shine all three expressions are all bottled at 46% ABV and are non-chill filtered.

Glen Scotia distillery, founded in 1832 has a long tradition of producing fine single malt. As one of only three distilleries in Campbeltown our new range of Glen Scotia Single Malt comprises a Double Cask, 15 year old and Victoriana. Our range reflects the traditional Campbeltown style and also that of the distillery itself. Double Cask and 15 year old are bottled at 46% ABV and are non-chill filtered whilst Victorian is 51.5% ABV and is also non-chill filtered.

Commenting on the distribution agreement of these two Single Malt ranges in the UK, Bruce Davidson, Business Development Director at Loch Lomond Group said “Loch Lomond Group are delighted to have the highly regarded Gordon and MacPhail as our partner for our great malt ranges. Their experience and expertise will be invaluable in building targeted distribution for our brand throughout the UK.”
