Compass Box do it Again

Lost BlendCompass Box do it again as their latest releases, The Lost Blend and Great King Street Glasgow Blend, show that John Glaser really has got the magic touch and these fruity, smoky drams are seriously drinkable.

Both of these drams are seriously drinkable, the Menthol and light malty smoke in the The Lost Blend along with a huge chunk of character and age, whereas the chalky smoke and sweet fruit in Great King Street Glasgow Blend make it such a fantastic session dram.

Once again i'm blown away by Compass Box and their ability to continually bring out new expressions which have a familiar feel yet are all so different and full of flavour, well done guys.

Try The Whisky Exchange to pick up a bottle of either of these for yourself.

Thanks to Compass Box for the official samples.

Compass Box Great King St Glasgow Blend

Glasgow Blend I recently posted some information about the release of the Great King Street Glasgow Blend from Compass Box and was lucky enough to get to try it.

There's a lot going on in this both on the nose and on the palate with a lvoely sweetness running through it and hints of chalky smoke that work really well together.

This is a seriously drinkable dram, easily one of the most flavoursome session drams you could buy, and i certainly recommend you do and for under £28 at The Whisky Exchange it's not going to break the bank either.

Thanks to Compass Boxfor the official sample.

Initially a hint of Edinburgh rock / sweet chalky notes with edges of smoke with fruity mentos and hints if fresh herbs with parsley being one of the strongest notes and a real sherry sweetness underneath

A hint of chalky smoke wraps round a huge dose of opal fruits / starburst and fruit mentos and fresh herbs hints of Christmas spice linger

Compass Box The Lost Blend

Lost Blend Another dram that I recently posted some information about was the release of The Lost Blend from Compass Box and was lucky enough to get to try it.

This dram is an homage to Eleuthra which was the first ever blended malt way back in 2001. For me there's not a huge smoky element, which is fine by me, and what is there goes more malty and mentholly, but there is a huge element of fruit and it's very juiocy and mouthwatering

This really is a look to the past also and you can get this at The Whisky Exchange to give it a try yourself.

Thanks to Compass Boxfor the official sample.

Sweet wrigleys juicy fruit chewing gum and tinned fruit salad in syrup come through strong at first then hints of menthol and mint leaf begin to come through

There's a hint of the juicy fruit chewing gum again then a whiff of waxy orange peel some cloves and malt loaf and menthol again

Menthol and long chewed gum
