Laphroaig 30yr XOP (Douglas Laing)
Laphroaig is definitely one of those drams I have a connection to, having joined the Friends of Laphroaig almost 20 years ago (my anniversary is January), so having the opportunity to sample a 30 year old single cask had me a little giddy.
Another Set of Three Special XOP
This series of Douglas Laing XOP releases was split into two with part one (click here) featuring drams from North British, Glen Garioch and Littlemill, this part two features Laphroaig, Macallan and Springbank.
Jura One and All 20 Year Old
It's not a secret that i love Jura whisky, in fact many of my whisky friends would describe me as Jura fanboy which i'm pretty much ok with, and when a new release comes along i'm always more than happy to give it a try.
Glencadam 1975 (Montgomeries)
Being the age I am it's not that often that i get to try whiskies older than i am, although i do happen to have tried quite a few, and even rarer to try ones the same age as me but this Glencadam 1975 from Independent bottlers Montgomeries was distilled when i was but a month old.
White Horse Blend (Bottled 1940s)
Thanks to Jason of Malt for the sample of this White Horse Blend, bottled in 1940s, the sharing of whisky between friends is a great way to try some whiskies you would never do otherwise.
Macallan 29yr (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
I know a lot of people who would be jumping over obstacles for a chance to try this but for me Macallan has never really been one of those distilleries i've got on with very well at all so this is one i'm not as looking forward to as the others.
Invergordon 43yr Batch 11 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
I've had the pleasure of a number of drams of invergordon from That Boutique-y Whisky Company and they have always been good, old grain generally is, and i'm really looking forward to sipping on this one.
Blended Whisky #3 23yr (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
I've had a good sniff at this dram a good number of times whilst at the other side of the table at events with Dave, but i've not had a sample of it until today.
Irish Single Malt #2 14yr (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
So this is a dram that intrigues me as an Irish Single Malt Whiskey is not something i have had a great deal of, as much of what is produced there is single pot still not single malt.
Speyburn 7yr (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
This is a really nice way to begin the tasting celebrating the 5th Birthday of That Boutique-y Whisky Company, with the 100th label design and this Speyburn 7 year old.
The Big Boutique-y Birthday Bash
Five years ago That Boutique-y Whisky Company started to produce some small batch drams and i've reviewed a number of them over the years, and tried a few more also.
Mezan Jamaica XO Rum
This Jamaican rum from Mezan is is a blend of casks from two distilleries, Monymusk and Hampden and is XO, which i still can't work out what that means in terms of rum age.
Mezan Panama 2004 Rum
One or two of my Day Job colleagues were talking about Mezan rum and utterly raving about the Panamanian rum they had from Mezan, which although not this one, had me really excited.
Mezan Jamaica Worthy Park 2005 Rum
Jamaican rum from the Worthy park distillery distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2017, now that sounds like a treat to me.
Mezan Trinidad 2007 Rum
Rums are produced in many places around the world, including Scotland now, and Trinidian rum has a great reputation for being on the very tasty side so I was really looking forward to this one.
