The Balvenie Unveil the DCS Compendium
One of the most momentous whisky collections ever created, The Balvenie DCS Compendium, is unveiled today. The Compendium celebrates the lifetime’s work of The Balvenie Malt Master David Charles Stewart (DCS), a legendary figure in the Scotch whisky industry, more than five decades after he first started work at the distillery.

William Larue Weller (2015 Antique Collection)
This wheated bourbon contains no rye and the wheat gives it a lot more sweetness along with the corn. At 67.3% abv this is a lovely dram that hides the abv.

Sazerac Straight Rye 18yr (2015 Antique Collection)
The Sazerac straight rye 18 year old was distilled in 1985 then aged 18 years it was all transferred from the casks into containers and has been released in batches annually since.

Buffalo Trace Masterclass with Drew Mayville
On Saturday, 10th October, I was lucky to attend a Buffalo Trace tasting in Edinburgh with master blender Drew Mayville which not only went through the white dog and standard Buffalo Trace bottlings but also some of the Antique Collection.

Arran 2000 14yr (The Whisky Exchange Exclusive)
This 2000 vintage 14 year old Arran from cask #2000/1106 is exclusive to The Whisky Exchange. I'm a big fan of Arran drams which usually give them a mix of sweetness and something older, usually either tweed like or a bit dusty.

This, Octomore 07.3, is the second release of Octomore of Octomore - Octomore whisky made from barley grown two miles along the coast from the distillery at farmer and friend James Brown's Octomore Farm.
