Cooley Distilleries Tweet Tasting
The Cooley Distilleries Tweet Tasting organised by Steve Rush from www.thewhiskywire.com was the first such tweet tasting that i was involved in.
Going through these 4 Irish gems was a real treat and a real eye opener.
Starting with the Kilbeggan Blend which i loved and thought was a nice easy drinking dram was a good introduction to these lovely whiskies.
The Tyrconnell Single Malt up next wasnt really to my taste but was still a nice enough dram if a bit to bitter for my liking.
The Greenore 8 year old Single grain however was a true eye opener, with a nose of dew wet grass and almost cider like apples and pears quality combined with the bourbon like aftertaste was stunning, one to keep an eye out on and try to pick up some more examples of.
Finally was the Connemara Peated Irish Whiskey which was yet another great example of Irish Whiskey and a real competitor to some of the big Islay Drams.
All in all i'm now a lot more inclined to look at some Irish Whiskeys.
